Qiao-An (Joanne) Wang is the Graduate Assistant for the LGBT Resource Center. They are a master’s student in Syracuse University’s Higher Education program and previously attended Cornell University, where they received their Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in diversity education and minors in Business and Asian American Studies. Joanne’s work with the center includes co-facilitating Fusion, a discussion group for queer and trans people of color, leading trainings and workshops, and planning events such as Queer Kickbacks and the HoliGay. They are passionate about working with queer college students and students of color and focus their work on intersectionality and bettering the college experience for those with marginalized identities. When Joanne isn’t working or studying, they enjoy playing the flute, singing, geeking out over the history of glass, and Studio Ghibli movies.
