Queer Activism and the Global Justice Movement
 


The LGBT Studies Program's theme for this year is international activism presents: Dana Collins, Assistant Professor of Sociology at California State University-Fullerton. Professor Collins will talk about her ethnographic research in Manila and some of the initial work she has done on a project on queer activism and the global justice movement. DATE: Monday, November 13, 2006, 303 Maxwell Hall, the Sociology Department Conference Room at 10:30-11:30 a.m.

ALSO, Professor Collins will be giving a more formal talk related to her research later in the day: ?Identity, Mobility, and the Practice of Urban Place-Making: Exploring Urban ?Gay? Life in Manila? Monday, November 13, 4:00 p.m., 341 Eggers Hall. ALL ARE WELCOME!

?Baby, it?s Cold Outside?
 


On December 8th & 9th at 8 PM, the Syracuse Gay and Lesbian Chorus will be performing their Holiday Concert entitled: ?Baby, it?s Cold Outside?. The performance is at First Unitarian Universalist Society on 109 Waring Road in Syracuse. This special event will include a post-concert Reception and Raffle. Tickets are $15.00 the night of the show, or available in advance for $12.00 by calling the Chorus Line at (315) 476-4329.


Job Opening: Director: Young Adult Media Program - New York or Lost Angeles
 


The Director of this program will be responsible for creating, implementing, maintaining and evaluating all of GLAAD?s work with young adults ages 18-24. This program will aim to empower young people to directly influence the media to include and better represent lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people and issues, in an effort to eliminate homophobia and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.
