"Secret Life of the Law" Lecture Series Presents: Deirdre
McCloskey,
Distinguished Professor of Economics, History, English, and
Communication, University of Illinois at Chicago
Professor McCloskey will give a talk based on her new book,
"The
Bourgeois Virtues: Ethics for an Age of
Capitalism" (University of
Chicago Press). Are capitalism, globalization, and the middle
class
evil? A good many artists and intellectuals in the West since
1848 have
thought so. Thursday, November 2 at 12:00pm, Eggers Hall
220 (The
Public Events Room). Lunch will be served and seating will
be limited.

AUDITIONS for the cast for the 2007 Vagina Monologues
at Syracuse
University will be held on the following days: Thursday,
November 1st -
8:00 PM till 10:30 PM in Schine 231 and 233 and Friday,
November 2nd -
5:00 PM till 7:00 PM in Schine 231 and 233.
Sign-up sheets will be posted outside of Cubicle I in OSL,
downstairs in

"Another Gay Movie"

CNY Pride will be showing "Another Gay Movie" at the
Palace Theater
on Wednesday, November 22 at 7:30 p.m. as a benefit for
CNY Pride.
Tickets will be $10, and there will be one show only on
Wednesday. The
Palace Theater is located at 2384 James Street.
The distributor provides this synopsis of the film: Four
gay high school
friends make a pact to lose their virginity before they go to
college.
The film is unrated, and more information, along with movie
trailers,
can be found at CNY Pride's web site.

MARC ADAMS: Adams is the author of the "The Preacher's
Son" which
chronicles his life growing up gay as the son of a
fundamentalist
Baptist minister in rural Pennsylvania and culminates with his
coming to
terms with being gay and his coming out to his
fundamentalist Baptist

applications for a visiting faculty position to teach Lesbian
and Gay
Studies. This junior level position is full time for two years
and may
be joint with any division of the University

Hofstra University School of Law

Hofstra University School of Law has established an
unprecedented
fellowship program for students engaged in advocacy on
behalf of the
lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.
Each year, the
law school will award fellowships to incoming J.D. students
with a
history of advocacy on behalf of the LGBT community.

Guide for Transgender People" full of information and
resources to help
you overcome voting barriers related to gender identity and
expression,
as well as other common obstacles.
