TOTALLY FABULOUS Student Drag Show, PRELIMS
 


TOTALLY FABULOUS Student Drag Show, PRELIMS! will be held in the Schine Underground THIS SATURDAY FEBRUARY 3R at 8 p.m. Tickets are now on sale at the Schine Box Office. Tickets for FEB 3RD are $2 for SU/ESF Students, Faculty and Staff. And $4 for General Admission.


LGBT Studies Program and Minor Reception for Undergraduates
 


We'd like to invite all undergraduates who are interested in LGBT Studies to join us for pizza and other snacks in the new digs for the LGBT Studies program from 4-5 on Friday 2/9 in 304 Tolley. Meet other students and faculty from the LGBT Studies Program, learn more about the minor, tell us the courses and topics you'd like to see developed, and share any and all ideas.


Black History Month, Opening Reception
 


The Office of Multicultural Affairs cordially invites you to the Black History Month Opening Reception to be held on Friday, February 2nd at 11:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. in the Schine Student Center Atrium. Black History Month events at Syracuse University celebrate the glorious and resilient history of African Americans, the complexity of their group identity and intra-group relationships, and the struggle for freedom and equality. Please take advantage of the many cultural and educational events sponsored by Multicultural Affairs and other university departments, community agencies and student organizations. All events are open to faculty, staff, students, and the larger city of Syracuse community.

The word out on the street is that Time Warner has been airing LOGO, one of the first LGBTQ networks, on cable channel 151. Please check with your local cable provider to support LGBTQ TV programming here in Syracuse.


Dance Instruction
 


Beginning Friday night, February 2nd, dance instruction at First UU goes Disco! The New York Hustle will be taught by Susan Shockey for 3 consecutive Friday?s from 7:00 to 8:30 pm on February 2nd, 9th and 16th in Fellowship Hall. This session is for 3 weeks, and it?s recommended you attend all three classes.


The cost for the three-week session (which by the way is a fundraiser for First UU) is $24.00 Contact Bob Watrous or Luis Morales at 699-0785 (rwatrous1@netzero.com) for further information.


Ballroom Dance
 


Friday, January 26th, and Friday, February 23rd, from 7:30 to 10:30, there will be an open ballroom dance held in Fellowship Hall at First UU for anyone interested. Nothing fancy - this is a fundraiser, with all proceeds going to First UU. This event is just for music, ballroom dancing and fun and will not offer any food or beverages so you may want to BYO. Admission is $5.00 per person. First UU, 109 Waring Road, Syracuse, NY 13224.


The Sixth Annual Trans-Health Conference will be held in Philadelphia on April 5-7, 2007.
 


Join us! This year's theme is: educate, empower, embrace. It represents our commitment to educating professionals and our communities about health needs, to empowering transpeople who are consumer of health services, and to embracing our identities and realities. This conference focuses on the specific issues, needs, and experiences of trans and gender-variant people with regard to the health of our bodies, lives, and communities.


Gay Research Study
 


Gay Research Study examines attitudes, feelings, and experiences associated with being a gay, bisexual, or questioning man. If you are a man who is at least 18 years old and has experienced same-sex attraction. The survey is anonymous, and takes about 30 minutes to complete. As an incentive to participate, all participants will be given the chance to enter a participant raffle awarding $100 each to three randomly selected participants.

If you are a woman who is at least 18 years old and has experienced same-sex attraction, I would greatly appreciate your participation in this study. As an incentive to participate, all participants will be given the chance to enter a participant raffle awarding $75 each to four randomly selected participants.
