Querying Globalization: Sexual Subjectivities, Development, and the Governance of Intimacy, Amy Lind, Associate Professor of Women's Studies, University of Cincinnati April 2, 2007, 4:00 p.m., 100 Eggers Hall.


This paper addresses how sexual subjectivities are produced, understood, and imagined in the global development industry. I argue that this industry serves as an important site for the institutionalization of neoliberal policies and the broader process of global restructuring.

Family Photo Album Project Reception is now set for Sunday, April 1, 1 ? 3 pm at Laci?s Café at the Palace Theatre. At our next RACNY meeting we will discuss the event. If you are interested in working on this event (planning the program, deciding how pictures will be displayed, decorating, etc), please let me know. Otherwise, we are depending on RACNY organizations to let members know about the event and get people there. Please be sure to tell your members and participants to save the date.


TAP: The Teens for AIDS Prevention Program For LGBTQ young people and their allies ages 13-22
 


One quarter of all new US HIV infections are in adolescent gay men. Please help us to empower area youth to make healthy choices about their sexuality and to share that information with their peers. Share the word about this workshop and encourage youth to attend. TAP was developed by Advocates for Youth www.advocatesforyouth.org. March 10, 2007, Saturday, 9:00 to 4:30, BREAKFAST and LUNCH PROVIDED at The LGBTQ Youth Center @ ACR.

IWD is the global day connecting all women around the world and inspiring them to achieve their full potential. Join women in this collaborative effort from the Neighbors of the Onondaga Nation, Syracuse Peace Council, Onondaga Nation, Syracuse University, Matilda Joslyn Gage Foundation, Raging Grannies and others for a talking circle to celebrate International Women?s Day.


Amigas Latinas seeks Latina lesbian/bi/trans/queer youth candidates for Latina LBTQ Youth Scholarships
 


Amigas Latinas seeks Latina lesbian/bi/trans/ queer youth candidates for Latina LBTQ Youth Scholarships: a support, education and advocacy organization for Latina lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning women seeks candidates for its annual Latina Les/bi/trans/queer Youth Scholarship Fund. Current high school seniors, who are of Latina heritage, identify as lesbian, bisexual, transgender or queer and who are actively promoting understanding and acceptance of LGBTQ people in their school and/or community can apply for a scholarship for college expenses to be awarded this Spring.


Up to six scholarships ($500 - $2,000) will be awarded and include the final scholarships to be given in honor of Aixa Diaz, a founding member of Amigas who brought vision and commitment to the Latina community through her organizing efforts and knowledge and encouragement to Latino children through her dedication as a teacher. DEADLINE for submission is March 31, 2007. To receive an application, send an email to info@amigaslatinas.org.


Graduate Assistant for LGBTQA Initiatives
 


RESPONSIBILITIES: The Graduate Student for LGBT(QA) initiatives is responsible for developing and implementing programs and services for the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Student population at Florida International University. Working under the umbrella of Multicultural Programs & Services, this GA develops, implements, and evaluates LGBTQA programs and services primarily for the University Park campus.

NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program (NUFP)
 


The NUFP Internship Program provides NUFP Fellows with the opportunity to gain more insight into the field of higher education and student affairs through a campus-based experience at a campus other than their own. This internship program is designed to give Fellows an opportunity to expand their knowledge and understanding of the field, increase their network of student affairs administrators, and have hands on experience in student affairs and higher education administration.

Graduate Internship ? the Center for Multicultural and Academic Initiatives for LGBT Programs and Services at Bowling Green State University Position Summary: The Graduate Assistant will coordinate programs and services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) students on the BGSU campus and serve as an office liaison with the LGBT student organization (Vision). As a member of the CMAI team, the intern will provide support and guidance on effective methods for retaining underrepresented students on campus. In addition, the Graduate Assist will serve as the coordinator of the L.G.B.T. Resource Center and educational materials.
