Resource Center Happenings
Planet
Orange Planet Orange is a weekly
discussion group for undergraduate students of all
types. We encourage everyone, whether you identify
as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender,
Questioning, Queer, Intersex or as a straight
ally, to attend and share in meaningful
conversation. Intermixed with social events,
topics will range from Coming Out to Spirituality
and Religion. Come as you are every Monday night
at 7:30pm to the LGBT Resource Center. For

Cafe Q: Guitar Hero
& DDR Style! Do you like to get
your nerd on? Then come join us for some friendly
competition, video game style. Test your guitar
playing and dancing skills. Raffle prizes, coffee
and cookies included. Everyone is welcome to

Rocky Horror Picture Show Live! @ SU

Sunday, Oct. 28th - 10:00 PM,
Schine Underground
Celebrate Halloween Rocky
Horror style! This live concert-style version is
sure to be a rousing performance, including a
talented cast of SU Drama and Musical Theater
students. Feel free to dress up as your favorite
RHPS character, and audience participation is
encouraged! (But please, no throwing of props.)
Brought to you by EW Productions and sponsored by
the LGBT Resource Center, Pride Union, Open Doors,
and RHA.
Tickets are on sale at the
Schine Box Office - $3 for SU students, faculty,

Regional LGBT/Queer Studies Graduate

This conference seeks to
explore all aspects of LGBT/Queer Studies as
represented in the cutting- edge work of emerging
scholars in the Central Upstate region of New
York. We invite graduate students working in all
disciplines to present their work. The conference
will include a keynote address by Assistant
Professor Dana Luciano, from Georgetown
University, called "Nostalgia for an Age Yet To
Come", and faculty from colleges and universities
in the region will serve as respondents for the
panels.

HR Benefits Open Enrollment Road Show

Benefits Open
Enrollment Road Show Thursday,
Novemeber 1 Noon - 1 p.m. LGBT
Resource Center (750 Ostrom Ave) A Road
Show is a Human Resources presentation for you to
learn more about this year's Open Enrollment for
benefits effective January 1, 2008. HR staff will
provide information on benefit options and the
enrollment process. Open Enrollment is October 29
- November 9, 2007. Open Enrollment is available
through MySlice, SU's online information system.
You will need your NetID and password to enroll.
This road show will specifically focus on
answering any questions about Same-Sex Domestic
Partner benefits (although you can attend any of
the other road shows as well and get your
questions answered there.) Questions can be
directed to the HR Service Center at x4042 or
hrservic@syr.edu.

Memorial for Will Liberi |
|
Thursday, November 8 at Noon,
Hendricks Chapel
A memorial service will be
held for William Liberi, former graduate student
in the School of Social work. The service is
scheduled for Thursday, November 8 at noon at
Hendricks Chapel. A reception will follow at the
LGBT Resource Center immediate after the service.

a.m. - noon @ LGBT Resource Center
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual
and Transgender(LGBT) Resource Center welcomes
parents and families for a tour of the Center, a
chance to meet staff, and a light breakfast of
bagels and coffee. This event is open to parents
of all students,including straight allies. For

encouraged, but not required.

Intergroup Dialogue Courses (3 credits)
available for Spring Semester |

Topics: Sexual Orienation,
Race and Gender
Interested in issues of
Gender, Race or Sexual Orientation? Want to
discuss and share views with other students?
Intergroup Dialogue Classes may be for
you!!!
Three separate courses will
be offered in the Spring semester, and each will
primarily focus on one of the following topical
areas: Sexual Orientation, Race and Gender. This
class meets several requirements for many majors,
and is highly ranked by students who have taken
it.
The Sexual Orientation class will be
taught by Adrea Jaehnig, Director of the LGBT
Resource Center, and Dean Tom Wolfe, Dean of
Hendricks Chapel.
